DNS Abuse Institute Welcomes Rowena Schoo

The DNS Abuse Institute is excited to welcome Rowena Schoo as the Director of Programs and Policy. Schoo will serve as a critical part of the team whose mission is to combat DNS Abuse.

“I am so pleased to have Rowena join the DNS Abuse Institute,” said Executive Director, Graeme Bunton. “Her extensive background with ccTLDs and interactions with governments and law enforcement will be an excellent addition to the DNSAI. Together we’ll be able to make a positive impact on DNS Abuse”

As the Institute continues to grow and build partnerships across the industry, so does its commitment to expanding its expertise, establishing best practices, funding DNS Abuse research, and developing innovative tools. Schoo will play an important role in achieving these goals.

“I’m delighted to join the DNS Abuse Institute as Director of Programs and Policy,” said Schoo. “Understanding and addressing online harm is a continuous challenge for our connected society and cannot be solved without a pragmatic, coordinated, and innovative approach. The Institute is well placed to lead this mission and I look forward to working with the wider community to make the internet a safer place.”

Schoo has over a decade of policy experience in a variety of contexts, including digital, healthcare, education, and sustainability. Prior to joining the DNS Abuse Institute, Schoo worked on international policy engagement at Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator. She previously worked as Policy and Government Relations Manager at Nominet UK, and for the UK government at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

She is a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for digital technology and the benefits it can bring to society. Schoo’s vast experience will enable the DNSAI to continue to strengthen its platform.
